Using leg meat of mutton marinated for 2 days with Mexican chilies, herbs and spices, our Mutton Barbacoa comes with a rich fat and strong flavor. Our mutton meat is slowly cooked in an oven first, then moved into a pot for hours for that perfect finish.
This gluten-free Barbacoa is great for making Tacos, Burritos, Sandwiches, Quesadillas, Enchiladas or just over rice. We recommend you use 70-100g per Taco and 100-120g per Sandwich.
How to make Tacos de Barbacoa :
1. Thaw inside of the pack the corn tortillas (White/Blue) until room temperature. Do not open the pack to defrost.
2. Reheat the Mutton Barbacoa packet by poaching the sealed package for 10 minutes in boiling water (do not open the sealed pack).
3. Once the Barbacoa is ready, use a frying pan to warm the tortillas on both sides until they get softened. Do not recommend microwaving.
4. Serve corn tortillas topped with the Barbacoa, finely chopped onions, cilantro (fresh coriander) and our Salsa Verde sauce or Chipotle sauce. You can also add Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Jalapenos or any of your favorite topping.
