John from the Cheese Guy in Okinawa has made our unique Mexican Manchego on his dairy farm in Nanjo, Okinawa. The temperature range in Okinawa is similar to the famous cheesemaking areas of Mexico, being close to subtropical and perfect for making cheese. Our Mexican Manchego is creamy, mild, and slightly sharp, similar to a good cheddar. It melts easily and is perfect for Quesadillas, Burritos, Tacos, or any Mexican dish.
How to defrost
Defrost the cheese in the fridge for 6 hours or overnight.
How to make Quesadillas
Defrost the corn tortillas and Manchego Cheese in the fridge for 6 hours or overnight.
Heat a frying pan on medium low heat, place the tortilla and let it warm a bit, then add 20-30g of the cheese, then fold the tortilla in half until it gets crispy in both sides. The cheese will beautifully melt (keep an eye not to burn the toritilla).
Note: You can add any choice of toppings such as meat, veggies, chilies, etc. Serve the quesadillas with any of our Handmade Sauces
