Birria is a traditional Mexican dish from Jalisco. This dish consists of a Beef soup stew carefully slow-cooked for hours in the pot and then in the oven. It is made from different cuts of beef (marinated for 1 day), beef bones, and a combination of Mexican chilies and spices. The result is a sweet, sour, slightly spicy and utterly savory Mexican stew that is cooked until the beef is extremely tender and fall-apart juicy and delicious.
This unique Burrito is a flour tortilla wrapped with Mexican Rice, Frijoles(beans), Birria and Cheese, then pan-seared for a crispy outside. Finally, dip the Burrito in the soup stock where the Birria was made and enjoy this explosion of flavors.
How to heat:
A. Recommended for best result:
Defrost in the fridge for a minimum of 5 hours (packed as it is). Wrap the burrito with aluminum foil and warm it using a fry pan at low heat for 12 minutes, or oven at 200 C for 10 minutes and finally pan fry medium low heat with no oil for 2 minutes total on sides until the shell is crispy.
B. Using Microwave
Remove from the sealed pack (frozen) and place the burrito on a plate, then heat for 4 minutes in the microwave and finally pan-fry medium heat with no oil for 2 minutes total on all sides.
Soup Stock:
After defrosting the Birria soup stock, place it in a small pot and warm it, or place it in a dish and microwave for 1 minute.
Serving Recommendation:
Serve the Burrito with the soup stock, using it as a dipping sauce. As optional (highly recommended): chopped onions, chopped coriander and fresh lime. Serve with any of our handmade salsa. Enjoy the leftovers of the soup, if there are any.

So tasty … and the personalized follow up on a delivery delay (because of me!) was much appreciated so I could get my order before the Golden Week break! Thanks!

It’s my first time ordering this particular burrito, but it quickly became my new favorite! The meat amount in the burrito was generous and the soup was a nice complement. I think this will be my go-to burrito from now on!

Always great! Had many times!

The burrito is really good. Just make sure you use a dish for the dip that makes it easy to dip a burrito in.
Victoria S. –
This burrito is delicious! The rice could do with a little more flavor as it doesn’t soak up the broth very well. Otherwise, so so good!

First of all the packaging was great and easy to open and use. Instead of following the heating instructions on the website, I heated it up in the oven at 200C for 10 minutes (foil wrapped) and stuck it in the airfryer for a few more minutes to crisp up the sides and it turned out beautifully. The meat is so well-spiced and tender. Even just one burrito is super filling and well-packed. The soup went amazing with it. Definitely would place an order again!

Delicious and so easy to heat up!

Great quality and taste! Good stuff as always
Claire ル. –
Taste was good, there’s not enough beans in my opinion. Microwave + frying pan works well to heat it up
Edge –
It was great but i think you could add more something to its taste to make it more Mexican.

I must say this tastes somewhat like an American pot roast and is very good. I would say it probably ranks among the best burritos from Meat Express, right along side the Matsusaka A5 Wagyu Burrito. Don’t get me wrong, the other burritos are great too (I’ve tried them all), but there’s something very nice about a meaty burrito! Highly recommended!

Very good. I wanted to try this type for a long time. Easy to reheat.

I didn’t know what a beef birria burrito would taste like, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The meat tastes fabulous, and the sauce seeping into the burrito perfects the flavor. I’m definitely ordering it again!
